Networking opportunity. Opportunity to distribute WLE campaign materials and make local organisations aware of them.

The activity

Representatives from local organisation who have children as their service users (i.e. children’s centres, primary schools, charity organisations, community centres, health education centres, local council officers specialising in health promotion) were invited by the WLE team in Bradford to attend a workshop at the HALE Healthy Living Project.

Speakers discussed healthy eating and physical activity for children. Each presenter focused on the following topics: evidence for the benefits of the behaviour, barriers, ways to promote a healthy behaviour, current guidance.

Service provision for children in Bradford was discussed in groups, focusing on what works, what doesn’t and what would current service providers like to see available for children in Bradford to help promote healthy behaviours.

Finally, the We Love Eating campaign materials were showcased to facilitate attendees’ use of the materials and ideas for activities to help promote healthy lifestyles for children.
